Was Your Password Stolen?

By iPad Pete Leave a Comment

As thousands of frauds and scams are happening worldwide every day, the web is indeed “dark.” But, there are a lot more benefits that we are currently enjoying in this digital age. The ability to do almost everything with just a tap of our finger is truly indispensable.

Since more is done online today, an account is required to perform all the transactions needed. But in every account that you hold, there is always a password involved – of course, to keep your account secured.

These combinations of letters, numbers, and characters are used by all platforms to verify that we are truly and legally performing the transaction. Always remember, passwords are your keys, and other people want them too.

With so many accounts and passwords you now have, it’s very easy to slip into getting the same password for multiple – if not all – accounts, right?

As we move around this digital world, protecting your passwords is a must. This is your line of defense. Therefore, it is crucial to know how to protect yourself and your family’s accounts while enjoying the benefits of this technology.

Apple is committed to protecting its consumers. That’s why they keep on providing new tools to ensure our security. However, as users, we should also know how to take advantage of these updates and what tools we can use.

iOS has a built-in feature called Security Recommendations. This feature checks your passwords for any sort of problems, and it automatically recommends an action to protect your account.

Here’s how you can access iOS Security Recommendations:

1. Go to your iPhone or iPad’s Settings.

2. Scroll down your screen and look for “Passwords”.

3. Tapping this option will immediately open up Face ID for verification.

For older iPhone models that don’t have Face ID, it will ask for your fingerprint or passcode.

4. If there are security risks found, tap “Security Recommendations”.

5. Make sure that the “Detect Compromised Passwords” toggle is enabled at all times.

6. Choose the account that you want to set up.

7. Go over the Security Recommendation section and complete the recommended action.

That’s it! Since you already know how to protect your passwords, go back to Security Recommendations again and check your accounts that need to be updated.
