One of the truly great things about the iPhone has to do with the powerful camera that only gets better with each new model.
On the one hand, it’s great to have the ability to shoot high-quality photos and videos anywhere, at any time.
It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing – in a matter of seconds you can record some incredible memories for all time.
However, anyone who has been in the iPhone ecosystem for long can tell you that this tends to lead to very large photo libraries.
Likewise, it can also lead to a lot of duplicate photos that take up a huge amount of space on your iPhone.
Apple themselves don’t offer a tool to remove these duplicate photos, but thankfully the people at Canon have decided to pick up the slack.
They’ve released a new tool designed specifically for the iPhone that allows you to do all of this and more.
The Canon “Photo Culling” App: What You Need to Know
The “Photo Culling” app uses artificial intelligence to quickly scan your photo library, allowing you to quickly find your best photos while being able to delete the rest just as fast.
The AI-powered app scans all of your pictures and rates them based on a number of important factors like sharpness, the amount of noise that is present, emotion, and more. It even scans to detect whether someone’s eyes are closed in the picture in question.
Then, it presents you with all the photos that it thinks are worth saving while also giving you an option to instantly delete the rest.
It also includes a number of other impressive features, including ones like:
-Similar Culling, which is designed to show you groups of similar pictures so that you can choose which one you think is best.
-Whole Culling, which lets you find the best overall photo in your photo library.
-The option to search for photos in your library based on the specific date on which they were taken.
-The opportunity to delete duplicate, blurry, or otherwise low-quality photos.
It’s important to keep in mind that you get to decide which factors are the most important to you in terms of determining the overall score of a photo. Likewise, you are in complete control over what is deleted and what isn’t.
The Canon “Photo Culling” app is available as a free download in the iTunes App Store, though ongoing use will cost you $2.99 per month or $14.99 per year.
