I never used to think about how I charged my iPhone. I would just plug it in overnight and let it do its thing. But then I heard about this TikTok user who said that he never charges his iPhone overnight, and his phone is still going strong after two years.
I was intrigued. Could it really be true that charging my iPhone overnight was damaging its battery? I decided to do some research.
Turns out, there is some truth to what the TikTok user said. Overnight charging can stress your iPhone’s battery and reduce its lifespan.
So now, I make sure to charge my iPhone during the day when I can keep an eye on it.
I work from home, so I’m able to charge my iPhone during the day. For some people, this might not be an option. And I don’t think it’s the end of the world to charge overnight.
But if you’re looking for ways to extend the life of your iPhone battery, overnight charging is one habit you can change. Try it and see for yourself!

I charge my iPhone 12 max pro before bed and turn it off before bed (I used to put on airplane mode but some notifications come through). Turn on in the AM and make sure both my hearing aids are synced …repeat day after day….
I never turn off my phone (except on a plane when I need to use my hearing aids with my iPad). I try to unplug it at night but sometimes I just have too little battery life. But this tip is worth observing.
