Here’s a handy tip for all iPhone users: learn how to lock your screen in portrait or landscape orientation!
Whether you’re catching up on the latest news, watching a movie, or playing a game, it can be extremely frustrating when your phone keeps flipping from vertical to horizontal, especially when you’re lying down in bed or on the couch.
With this helpful guide, you’ll learn how to quickly and easily access the portrait orientation lock so you can keep your device stable no matter what position you hold it in.
To Lock Your iPhone’s Screen Rotation…
1) Swipe down from the top right on your Home Screen. This will open your Control Panel.

2) Tap the round arrow and lock icon. This is your Portrait Orientation Lock. If it’s grey, it is turned off, and your iPhone screen will rotate based on how you are holding it.
3) If you don’t want your screen to rotate, tap the Portrait Orientation Lock. It will turn white to indicate that your screen lock is on. Now it will stay in the position you were using when you tapped the lock icon, and it will no longer rotate.
Enjoy using your phone with the Portrait Orientation Lock enabled!
