The new iOS 16.2 beta 3 has a setting that allows users to disable wallpaper and notifications from appearing on the iPhone’s always-on display. This is in response to complaints from some reviewers who found the default implementation of the Always-On display “too on.”
With this new setting, the iPhone 14 Pro’s Always-On display will show a pure black design alongside your Lock Screen widgets and the time when both wallpaper and notification features are disabled.
Here’s how you can disable wallpaper and notifications from appearing on your iPhone’s always-on display:
1) Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2) Tap Display & Brightness.
3) Scroll down and tap Always On Display.
4) Tap the switch next to Show Wallpaper to turn it off.
5) Tap the switch next to Show Notifications to turn it off.
Your iPhone’s always-on display will now show a pure black design alongside your Lock Screen widgets and the time when both wallpaper and notification features are disabled.
