New iPhone Feature – Message Tagging

By iPad Pete 6 Comments

Apple added a new feature to your iPhone’s Message App in their iOS 14 update.

You’re able to tag someone in a group conversation to get their attention. This is particularly useful in larger group conversations.

You can also reply directly to a message, which will create a thread within the conversation. Kinda like on Facebook.

With this feature, it makes it easier to get a timely response from someone in the group conversation.

To tag someone in a conversation, simply type their first name in the chat. Or, type several people’s names if you want to address a few people in the group.

Users can get notified if they are mentioned in any of their conversations. So, you can easily get their attention even if they aren’t reading all the comments in the conversation.

To make an in-line reply to someone’s comment, long-press on the comment, and select “Reply”.
