It may be time to toss out your measuring tape…
Apple’s new LiDAR technology allows you to measure a person’s height in just seconds.
LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is included in Apple’s new iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and 2020 iPad Pro.
Here’s how you can measure someone’s height with your iPhone…
1) Open the Measure app on your iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, or 2020 iPad Pro.
2) Point your iPhone or iPad’s camera at the person you would like to measure. Keep in mind that the person can be seated or standing — as long as their entire body is visible in your camera’s viewfinder, they can be measured.
3) Within seconds, a line should appear on your iPhone or iPad’s screen indicating the person’s height.

4) You can easily take a photo of the measurement by tapping the white shutter button that is directly to the right of the central + button.
It’s that easy!
Your iPhone 12 Pro or iPad Pro’s height-measuring feature can make your life a little easier. This is the most cutting-edge Light Detection and Ranging technology on the market today!
