A haptic keyboard is a keyboard that uses vibrations to provide feedback to the user.
This can be helpful in several ways, such as providing confirmation that a key has been pressed or simply making the typing experience more satisfying.
Many third-party keyboards have offered haptic feedback for some time, but iOS 16 finally brought this feature to the built-in keyboard as well.
I suggest you try turning it on and use it for a while. Then see if it’s for you. If it’s not for you, simply turn it back off.
Here’s how to turn on Haptic Keyboard on your iPhone…
1. Start the Settings app.
2. Tap Sound & Haptics.

3. Scroll down and tap Keyboard Feedback.
4. Turn on Haptic by swiping the button to the right.

With Haptic not turned on, you’ll feel a slight bump when you tap a key. If you decide you don’t want to hear the clicking sound as you type, you can turn it off. To turn off the clicking sound, switch off the “Sound” button on the Keyboard Feedback page.
There you have it! Now you know all about the haptic keyboard in iOS 16 and how to use it.
