iOS 15 – Hide My Email

By iPad Pete 4 Comments

In the latest iOS 15 update, the paid iCloud subscription has been rebranded to be iCloud+ that includes a great feature: Hide My Email.

This is perfect for when you always browse through websites that need you to sign up, and instead of putting your private email address, iCloud will create a random email address that can simply be deleted anytime.

Create an Email Address Using Hide My Email

Step 1. Open Your Settings App

Step 2. Tap on Your Name and the iCloud.

Step 3. Tap on ‘Hide My Email’

Step 4. Then Create a New Address

Step 5. Here you will see the random email address iCloud will provide you. Mine is shown below. Then tap on Continue.

Step 6. You can create a Label to name this address and leave a note to specify something about this email address.

Step 7. Tap Next.

Step 8. All set! Tap Done.

Now you can use this random email address when you send emails in Mail, or when you need to sign up or enter an email address on a website in Safari.

Deactivate Hide My Email

If you do not need the random email address anymore, you can deactivate it. Here’s how:

Go through Steps 1 to 3.

Step 4. Tap on the email address you wish to deactivate.

Step 5. Tap on Deactivate Email and confirm.

How to Change Your Forwarding Email Address

The forwarding email address is where you will receive the emails that will be sent to the dummy address.

1. Go through the same Steps 1 to 3 above and tap on Forward To.

2. If you have multiple email addresses on iCloud, you can select from the list where you wish to receive the forwarded emails at.

This custom control feature to hide your email is a big step to protect your privacy. This is exclusive to paid subscription on iCloud (when you upgrade your iCloud storage).

      Hi Holly,

One of the most common reasons the update can’t install is there isn’t enough space available on your iPhone. This website covers the most common problems and how to fix them and has a video tutorial as well.

    Hey guy

    Ive installed ios 15.
    I have an icloud+ account
Ive created a ‘fake email’ on icloud.

Now there is no instance of it showing in mail to use it for mailing.

So is it only for a fake email for creating hidding when you sign up on some company website?
