How to Use Your iPhone to Scan Photos

By iPad Pete 1 Comment

By far, the best way to take your old photos and transfer them to your computer is using a dedicated scanner.

At the same time, not everyone has that type of equipment just laying around. Thankfully, Apple has come up with an alternative – there is scanning functionality built right into your iPhone!

All you need are those old photos and an environment with adequate lighting. Everything else can be handled directly from the “Notes” app!

Here’s how you can scan old photos on your iPhone in just a few seconds.

1) Open the “Notes” app on your iPhone.

2) Select the icon in the lower right corner of the screen. This is the “Create New Note” icon.

3) Tap anywhere inside the body of the note to bring up the “Options” menu. Select the “Camera” icon from the “Options” toolbar.

4) Select the option labeled “Scan Documents.” This will open the “Camera” app on your phone.

That’s it! Now, all you have to do is lay the photo you want to scan down on a flat surface with good lighting. Just select the “Shutter” button from the camera window and that photo will now have a high quality digital version on your iPhone!
