When you look at yourself on your iPhone screen taking a selfie… your iPhone shows you the way you see yourself in the mirror (reversed).
However… the second you snap the photo, your iPhone flips the image so that it appears as other people see you (not reversed).
If you prefer to stop this flipping… and have the image the way you originally saw it, there’s now an option to take a “Mirror Image” selfie.
Note, that this Mirror Image feature is only available on the iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, and all iPhone 11 and 12 models as of right now.
Here’s how to take a Mirror Image Selfie with iOS 14…
1. Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone.

2. Scroll through until you find the option labeled “Camera.” Select it.

3. Scroll down to the “Composition” section of the screen and select the option labeled “Mirror Front Camera.”

You’re done! Now, any selfies you take with the iPhone’s front-facing camera will be a mirror image of what you would normally see!
Keep in mind, however, that any text in the image or any logos on your shirt will appear backward, the same way they would in a regular mirror.
You can also go back to taking regular selfies by simply navigating back to the “Mirror Front Camera” section on your iPhone and tapping once to turn it off.
