Even if you have an iPhone 12 Pro Max with its significantly larger battery capacity, everyone knows how annoying it can be to suddenly get caught with a dreaded “Low Battery” warning.
Luckily, iOS 14 now includes a helpful feature called “Optimize Battery Charging” that can help you get more life from your iPhone. It works by changing how your battery is charged, all in an effort to reduce premature aging.
Once enabled, this feature will learn your daily charging habits so that it can wait to finish charging beyond 80% capacity until you really need to use your iPhone. This helps cut down on battery wear and tear moving forward.
Here’s how to enable Battery Optimization on your iPhone…
1. Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone.

2. Scroll through the menu on the screen until you find the option labeled “Battery.” Select it.

3. Tap once on the “Battery Health” listing.

4. Toggle the option for “Optimized Battery Charging.”

That’s it! Note that from the same screen you can also see the current maximum capacity of your battery relative to when your iPhone was new. This is a great way to get a sense of when you might have to replace your battery or upgrade to a new model.
Thanks!!
Can you please address whether we should wait to charge until it’s depleted or charge every night? Also whether it’s safe to charge off the iPad block which is faster.
Thanks
Thanks my phone iPhone 7S was already set that way.
