[iPhone Tip] Facetime Moving Faces?

By iPad Pete 14 Comments

By default, Facetime brings to the front the person who is speaking.

Apple calls this feature “Automatic Prominence”.

I call it “Annoying”.

Especially when you’re speaking with a larger group of people.

The moving face tiles can be very distracting during a group conversation.

Plus, sometimes one person will accidentally make a noise and the other people get pushed to the back.

But, you can turn off this Facetime feature if you find it distracting.

When the feature is turned off, all the faces will be the same size during the entire Facetime call. No more moving faces!

Here’s how to turn off “Automatic Prominence”…

1) Open your Settings App.

2) Scroll down and tap “Facetime”

3) Under “Automatic Prominence” switch “Speaking” to Off.

Note: You’ll need iOS 13.5 or later for this tip to work.
