Easily Type Numbers on Your iPhone Keyboard

By iPad Pete 20 Comments

Are you tired and irritated of tapping the 123 and ABC buttons repeatedly?

Then when a number or a question mark is needed in your message, you sigh and say, “here we go again.”

Luckily, there is a keyboard hack that will make your life easier.

Using this keyboard technique with both hands should be effortless, but with one hand only, it’s a little bit challenging at first. Few practices will let you get used to the combination.

Here’s how to use this iPhone keyboard hack…

1. Access your iPhone’s keyboard by creating a new note, or opening a message on your iPhone.

2. When you need to type a number or symbol, simply hold the “123” button.

3. While holding the “123” button, tap (or slide your finger to) the numbers or symbols that you need to add to your message.

4. Once you are done typing, release the “123” button.

5. You will now return again to your usual ABC keyboard.

Such a simple hack, right? Next time that you need numbers and symbols, just do these simple steps. Maybe you can share these steps also to others that are not happily tapping the 123 and ABC buttons all the time, right?

This is great for the standard keyboard numbers and symbols but when you need to go further and add % or # You still have to switch back-and-forth

I guess I’m a little slow, but when I pressed the button, it just took me to the numbers screen. I tried holding the alpha button, it appeared to just do that same thing as just touching it. I still had to hit it again to go back to letters. Please help a challenged older lady understand what I’m doing wrong!! I have learned if u push down on the lettered screen and pull down, it will give u the image on top of the key. For example, hole down the coma key and pull it down it will ty,e in the exclamation point. But as I’m pretty sure I learned from your tips you’ll already know this!!! Lol!! Just humor an older lady and let her think she showed you something ok??? Lol

I have an iPad 6 and all I have to do on it to right one two three in numerals is to hold q and swipe down. Then hold w and swipe down. Last, hold e and swipe down and it prints the numbers for you, as the numbers and symbols are ar the top of each key in greyed out form. They should put them on the iPones keyboard the same way.
