Easily Backup Your iPhone

By iPad Pete 3 Comments

Your iPhone is already a valuable gadget that you use on a daily basis. More than just being able to make a call and send an SMS, your iPhone can now do so much more!

Do you use emails for work? Your iPhone can help you retrieve, read, and respond to work emails. Talking to family and friends through various social media channels is also easier with your phone. Not to mention all the photos and videos you take on a daily basis with it. With all these, your iPhone holds a huge amount of important information.

The next question is how do you back up your iPhone to make sure you keep all that information safe, right? Well, there are a few ways you can do that.

Using your iCloud account using your iPhone

The most straightforward approach in securing your information is using your iCloud account.

Remember you need to be connected to a WIFI network to do this.

1.) Tap and open your Setting app in your iPhone

2.) Tap on your name in the iCloud section on top

3.) Scroll down and tap on the iCloud Backup

4.) Toggle it on. It should turn green when it is on.

5.) Once it is on, you will get a prompt saying it is turning on.

6.) There will now be a new option below that says Back up now. Tap that.

7.) You should see this on your screen saying it is backing up.

Remember that you have about 5GB of free storage but you can always purchase more if you need it.

Using your Mac

If you are also using a Mac, either a laptop or desktop, you can quickly back-up your iPhone as well. There are slight variations on how you can do it. You might have experienced backing-up your iPhone using iTunes in the past. But oftentimes, it will always lead you to Finder on your Mac.

Once you connect your iPhone to your Mac, just follow these steps:

1.) If this is the first time you are connecting your phone, you will be prompted to answer a question. Click Trust

2.) You will then be asked to put in your iPhone passcode for security.

2.) On your Mac, click on your Finder app and select your iPhone from left panel. Once you select your iPhone, you will see this screen and you can then click on Back Up Now

If you are using your iTunes, find your Device from the left-side panel and click on Sync Settings. It will direct you back to your finder. Once that happens, just follow the steps above.

There you go, that is how easy it is to back up your iPhone. Make sure you keep this in mind so you get to save all that important information you have in your iPhone.

On PC, I open iTunes then attach my iPhone. You get the Trust this computer popup, hit trust. Then a small icon appears at top left in iTunes, that looks like an iPhone. Click on that. The screen that then shows has a button, to back up your phone. 🙂
