Apple has always been at the forefront of technological innovation. From its payment services to its music streaming service, Apple constantly pushes the boundaries of how we use our devices.
Last year at WWDC, Apple made major announcements regarding various products and services they had been perfecting over the past few months.
From Apple Card Savings Accounts to Next-Generation CarPlay, here are a few innovative features you can expect from the tech giant this year.
Read on for all the details about these exciting updates!
1) Web Push Notifications

Apple has big plans for web push notifications in 2023. Support for opt-in web notifications is set to arrive later this year.
This exciting new feature will change how we receive notifications from websites through Safari and possibly other supported web browsers.
Fortunately, Apple will require websites to ask users for permission before the site can send you notifications.
For several years, Apple Macs have offered support for web notifications; however, the same features have yet to be available on iPhones and iPads.
Push notifications can be a great way to stay informed of the latest news, updates, and offers from your favorite websites. However, they can also be intrusive and annoying if used too often or without permission.
Furthermore, always ensure that you only receive push notifications from websites you trust. That way, you won’t be bombarded with irrelevant ads or messages.
But overall, Apple’s new support for opt-in web notifications is an exciting development with many potential uses and benefits.
2) iMessage Contact Key Verification

Apple has recently introduced a new security measure set to benefit those at risk of being targeted by malicious actors.
iMessage Contact Key Verification allows users to verify that they are only messaging with the people they intended.
The feature will be available this year and is meant for high-security iPhone users like government members, journalists, human rights activists, etc.
By utilizing next-level encryption technology, users can further verify the authenticity of their communications with the people they want to talk to.
This added layer of security in Apple’s iMessage application helps users be more secure when communicating sensitive information on digital platforms.
For most of us, the level of security provided by Apple’s iMessage Contact Key Verification won’t be necessary.
However, it is comforting to know that this extra layer of protection is available for those who need it.
People in government roles or those in the public eye are often at risk of malicious actors attempting to intercept and manipulate their communications.
But with this new feature, users can rest assured knowing that they will be able to trust the authenticity and integrity of their conversations.
So, Apple’s iMessage Contact Key Verification not only benefits those who need it but also helps create a safer digital environment for everyone.
3) Apple Pay Later

Apple Pay Later will be a new addition to Apple’s already successful payment platform.
It will allow you to purchase online goods and pay them off over six weeks in 4 equal installments, free from any interest or fees.
It will be simple to use, with easy access on the iPhone’s Wallet app when Apple rolls it out.
This new feature is an exciting development for customers looking for more flexible payment options with the security of Apple Pay.
Apple Pay Later will be a revolutionary “buy now, pay later” service similar to its competitors, such as Affirm and Klarna – two leading innovators in this modern wave of platforms.
I feel that while Apple Pay Later can be a useful tool in a financial emergency, it should not be relied upon as a way to overextend yourself financially. It’s always important to consider your budget before making a purchase and make sure you can pay off your debts on time.
Additionally, it’s wise to shop around and compare different payment plans’ terms and conditions before signing up for one.
4) Apple Card Savings Account

Apple Card users will soon be able to grow their rewards in Apple Wallet by automatically depositing their Daily Cash into a new high-yield Savings account from Goldman Sachs.
Soon, users can spend, send, and save Daily Cash directly from Wallet. Once users set up their Savings account, all future Daily Cash received will be automatically deposited into it.
Apple Card users can watch their rewards grow in Wallet through an easy-to-use Savings dashboard, which shows their account balance and interest accrued over time.
The new Savings account from Goldman Sachs expands upon the financial health benefits and valuable Daily Cash that Apple Card already offers.
Users can also deposit additional funds into their Savings account through a linked bank account or from their Apple Cash balance.
5) Apple Music Classical

Apple Music made a big move to please its classical music-loving audience by acquiring Primephonic in August 2021.
With this new alliance, Apple Music users can look forward to exclusive content and playlists curated explicitly for enjoying some of the finest classical compositions.
Apple Music Classical was supposed to have its own dedicated app in 2022, but Apple missed that deadline. Hopefully, it will launch later this year.
Apple Music Classical offers content from various genres and composers, including Baroque, Romantic, Mozart, Vivaldi, and more.
I find classical music to be an incredibly calming and peaceful genre of music. Classical music is the perfect backdrop for studying, working, or just winding down after a long day.
It can be soothing to listen to while exploring different ideas and concepts in your head, or it can provide much-needed relaxation during times of stress.
I’m excited about Apple Music Classical, as it will give listeners access to some of the greatest composers ever!
6) Next-Generation CarPlay

CarPlay has revolutionized the kind of experience one has with their car and iPhone.
With its next generation, it’s taking this experience to a whole new level.
Users will be able to take control of all their vehicle functions, such as radio, temperature, etc., through CarPlay alone.
Its personalization options are also wide-ranging and fully customizable, enabling users to choose from different widgets or designs for the gauge cluster according to their unique tastes.
These personalization options offer drivers an individualized experience tailored perfectly to their needs.
Whether running a quick errand or heading off on a road trip, CarPlay makes it easier and safer to use your iPhone in your car.
CarPlay allows drivers to access their favorite apps safely and conveniently for navigation assistance, entertainment, and more.
So next time you take to the roads, consider embracing the power of CarPlay to make your journey more enjoyable and hassle-free.
7) New Home Architecture

The new Apple Home architecture was an exciting update for tech enthusiasts when it first arrived in October; however, the hype quickly died down as users experienced issues with their connected home accessories.
Many customers found reliability and performance were actually poorer than before. They voiced their frustrations, leading Apple to pull the architecture completely last month.
After recognizing this issue with its new architecture, Apple released a statement stating that they were aware of the problem and would release a fix soon.
They also removed the option to upgrade to this new architecture to avoid further problems or negative user reviews. And, they promised that anyone who had already upgraded would not face any issues with their experience.
No word on when the new update will be available, but it is expected to be sometime this year.
Conclusion
Apple has consistently proven itself to be a leader in the tech world, and this year is no exception.
Despite some hiccups with the new Home architecture update, the company has taken necessary steps to ensure that its customers continue to have the best experience possible.
With features like Apple Card Savings Account and Next-Generation CarPlay, 2023 looks exciting for Apple users as they get closer to unlocking even more of their devices’ potential.
It is just the beginning of yet another successful year for Apple, and we look forward to what comes next!
